Day 1: P2 Boutique Hotel

It was Baby's first overseas trip.

She was a wonderful baby. Didn't fuss or cry over the long journeys. Amazing she!

Her first pic at the airport after a long taxi ride
She made heads turn just by being in the luggage trolley,"So cute!" "A baby in the trolley!"
The weight of our luggage. Two in all. The bigger one was completely empty cos I read that we should just bring an empty luggage to Bangkok since we would definitely buy loads of things there.
Finally, a decent pic with Baby!
Upon seeing the ice-blended coffee with orange, she said,"我的肚子饿!我要吃这个!" ("I am hungry! I want to eat this!") The longest sentence she spoke so far.
The journey tired her out
Rice with fish
Noodles with chicken. Yummy!
Coffee cake. Yummy too!
Pasta - yummy not!
Reaching Bangkok!
Their national fleet
The officers waved at us to get us to queue at the priority lane
An inefficient system. The luggage often got stuck in the luggage jam and the female attendant had to handcarry them to move them out of the way to clear the jam. Not an enviable job!

Our van transfer
Our humble 3-star hotel

5th level. The highest was 6th.
The Superior Twin Bedroom interior is decent. I love the parquet flooring. You don't cringe from the icy cold feeling the moment your feet touch the floor like how tiles give you the next morning you wake up.
Some reviews on the internet was so bad I thought the room didn't have air-conditioning
Bedside lamps
It also consists of a bar fridge, wardrobe, safe and a drawer
They provide two bottles of drinking water supposedly on a daily basis
The basic toiletries. No toothbrush and toothpaste though
Soap
The bathroom

No bathtub though

Our awful window view
The tiny lift often-mentioned in the reviews. Really tiny. Fit for a toddler.
The reception area
Thai baht
I always create tables of exchange rate whenever I go overseas - an idea I usurp from a blogger. A quick reference to the slip of paper would tell me how much it cost in Sing dollar.

On our way to the Platinum Mall

Review of P2 Boutique Hotel:
It is a decent hotel. Liveable. Clean. The staff is polite and helpful - until the last day. I shall explain more in my Day 4 post.

The towels are changed at 4pm when the room-cleaning takes place. However, the second day when we needed to bathe, we requested for clean towels in the morning and they promptly delivered, they didn't come back to clean up the room or remove the used towels after that! Needless to say, the bottled water was not replenished either.

I read much about insisting on drinking bottled water only in Bangkok, so we boiled the bottled water for Baby's hot water. There was a 7-eleven nearby, so William went to get a really huge bottle to last us for the next few days.

The hotel is near Pratunam area. We walked about 10 to 15 minutes to the Pratunam Shopping Belt where Pratunam Wholesale Market and all the big malls (Big C, Centerpoint etc)were. The nearest BTS station is Chidlom. However, since cab rides are cheap in Bangkok, we didn't walk to Chidlom BTS even once.

The hotel is new - about a year since it started. Many taxi drivers do not know about this hotel. What we did was to tell the driver to go to Bangkok Palace Hotel which was two lanes behind and after that, direct the driver to go to our hotel.

It cost about 90 plus baht to go to Chatchuchak Weekend Market from the hotel, Yaowarat (Chinatown) and Sukhumvit Road where we had our meals twice.

If I ever go Bangkok again (which is quite remote), I will probably choose to stay at a hotel that is more well-known such as Bangkok Palace Hotel or Pathumwan Princess. It was stressful trying to get the driver know where we were going and I worried incessantly if the driver would take us on futile rounds by feigning ignorance.

Oh, did I say not to try emailing them? I tried that and the email bounced back.
