Day 5: Australia Dairy Company (澳洲牛奶公司), Ming Yuen Cha Can Ting (明苑粉面茶餐厅)

My mother could not get enough of the steamed-milk-with-egg-white I packed as a takeaway for her the night before as supper and asked me to take her to the place I discovered the tasty pudding-like dish early the next morning.

Steamed milk with egg white ( 蛋白炖鲜牛奶) - HK18 (S$3.30)

Scrambled egg with toast (腿蛋文治)- HK15 (S$2.73)

Can't see the ham, can you?

Marcaroni with ham (火腿通粉) - HK18 (S$3.30)

Verdict on Australia Dairy Company:
We were all swooned by the steamed milk with egg white. It's nothing like we've tasted before. It looks like beautifully pure white pudding - a little hard on the outside, but when you dig into the milk, hey, it feels like milky liquid. And it tastes like milk with egg white! Sweet, but not too sweet. Just nice to tease your taste bud for another spoonful of steamed milk, until you see the bottom of the bowl.

The first time I visited the Company, it was 10.30pm (it closes at 11pm) and the small shop was bustling with activities and teeming with young people. You'd think it was breakfast time judging from the food eaten by the young patrons ie. bread with ham, scrambled eggs, marcaroni.

This is another place I would definitely go if I ever visit Hong Kong again.
However, the rest of the items are pretty ordinary I thought. I'd read raving review about the scrambled egg, but the frog in the well thinks it's not much different from McDonald's.

For convenience's sake, the second round of breakfast saw us eating at Ming Yuen Cha Can Ting (明苑粉面茶餐厅)situated just opposite our hotel.

Cow intestines noodles (牛什面)
The bill

Wonton noodles (云吞面)
The usual ping pong ball-like wontons

Pork chop noodles(猪扒面)
The pork chop was crispy on the outside and tender inside. Nice!

Getting to Australia Dairy Company:

1) Jordan MTR Station Exit C2

2) Look for a 7-Eleven shop and walk straight down to Parke Street (one block away)
